"When I paint, I enter into a state of grace. First of all to myself, but also connected to all the universe. And I think that this painting of mine, is my contribution to a better world somehow. When someone brings a painting of mine into their home, they also bring that grace into their home." |
Florentine Peeters, born in 1962 in Flandres, has always been a creative jack of all trades. She studied graphic design and worked in this field for 25 years. But soon she got fed up with this fast commercial world, and started her own creative process.
After a profound inner transformation, she developed within her a spiritual connection with the Spirits of Nature itself. Her work since then has been infused with this extra dimension, that soulful energy that arises when she creates in connection with them. With this work, she invites the observer to reconnect with this magical world, who has been forgotten, even forbidden, for many years. And this is how healing and reconnection occurs on a deep level between people and nature, through her work. Florentine has been looking for ways to capture this Magic of Nature ever since. Reveiling the metaphysical qualities of light, is the inspiring motive in her work. This is reflected in paintings as a gentle prayer, as an incantation against the harshness of existence. The magic in her paintings lights up when the colours start to danse, to play on the canvas, when they explode into a bonfire. Or when the colors fuse into a soundscape, woven by an invisible hand. With one only purpose, touching the sacred Light. No wonder that the titles she give to every piece of art, are a real declaration of love for Life itself. By moving from Flanders to Bretagne, where the light is so bright, and the fairies so near, Florentine has finally found her home. |

Florentine converts nature in her art, more specific by making paintings, mobiles and sculptures in bronze or clay. Her work is poetical and fluent, made by material and by depth. One could qualify her work as some kind of ethereal and dreamy impressionism.” Le Télégramme, 16th december 2019, Raphaël Lagier. |
